TGT is a locally owned multi store rural retail business in the Mareeba Shire/Atherton Tablelands area in Far North Queensland. We specialise in the supply of general hardware, building materials, agricultural chemicals, rural products and fertiliser. TGT is part of the NQCOOP Group which was established in Mareeba in 1947. We currently have an exciting opportunity for a professional and dedicated Finance / Administration Officer to join our support office team in our Mareeba head office location on a part time-time basis. Expected hours would be 9am to 2pm Monday to Friday to fit in with school hours.
This role will be responsible for providing Finance & Administration support to our Group Finance Manager. This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable finance experience, with training provided .
Key Duties / Responsibilities will include:
* Monitoring and assisting incoming queries via email, phone and help desk
* Manage receival of invoices and forward on for approval as necessary
* Reconciling payments received and distributing payments to sites
* Set up new supplier accounts
* Assist with bank reconciliations
* Assist with the AP function when required
* Prepare and process the monthly BAS
* Sending out monthly account statements
* Processing and releasing daily and end of month payments
Providing outstanding customer service to both internal staff and external customers in addition to attending to any general administration tasks / support as required
Qualifications
To be successful in this role we would prefer someone with an interest in finance and a tertiary qualification in either book-keeping or a related financial discipline. If you have had any previous accounts payable or receivable experience, that would be well regarded but is not essential.
A minimum 2 years of general administration experience along with a high level of attention to detail plus have an ability to deal sensitively and maturely with confidential information and records
Excellent written and spoken communication would be expected along with effective planning and organisational skills to manage broader situations and multiple tasks when required.
