Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Railway Vehicle Technician to join our team.
About the Role:
* Install and assemble railway vehicle components using standard work procedures and hand tools, ensuring quality and efficiency.
* Perform basic testing and troubleshooting of mechanical systems and components installed in the railway car, identifying areas for improvement.
* Use lifting and transporting devices such as overhead cranes to install, replace, and align subassemblies and components, adhering to safety protocols.
* Conduct self-inspections of railway car components to identify defects and ensure quality standards are met.
* Remove and replace defective parts and components, minimizing downtime and costs.
* Cross-reference technical documents and highlight discrepancies to supervisors or engineers.
Requirements:
* Hold a Certificate III in Engineering or equivalent mechanical trade qualification.
* Prior experience in manufacturing environments is highly beneficial.
* Able to interpret technical diagrams and drawings with ease.
* Possession of high-risk tickets or licenses (EWP working at heights, etc.) is advantageous but not mandatory.
