Hobart (Eastern Shore) Based Position
Full Time
Veterinary Nurse (Nursing + Reception)
Eastern Shore Veterinary Hospital is a proudly family-owned, independent small animal practice, continuing to grow thanks to the ongoing trust and support of our clients.
Following our recent expansion into a modern, purpose-built facility, we are now looking to add another Veterinary Nurse to our team as we continue to build capacity and refine our services.
This is a varied role combining both nursing and reception duties, ideal for someone who enjoys building genuine client relationships while also delivering high-quality patient care.
We are seeking a team member who is professional, hard-working, positive and kind, who values teamwork and a respectful workplace culture.
The position is ideally full-time; however, we are committed to flexibility and will consider part-time arrangements for the right person. Our nurses work a Monday to Saturday roster, with shifts scheduled across our opening hours.
We also welcome applicants with a strong reception background who are interested in training and developing as a Veterinary Nurse.
The role includes (but is not limited to):
* Providing friendly, compassionate and professional client service within a shared reception rotation
* Safe, confident and gentle animal handling
* Assisting veterinarians with medical and surgical procedures
* Maintaining a clean, organised and sterile clinical environment
* Delivering attentive inpatient care
* Contributing positively to a collaborative team
Preference will be given to candidates who:
* Hold or are currently studying Certificate III or IV in Veterinary Nursing
* Have recent experience in a veterinary practice
* Demonstrate strong customer service skills
* Are confident in animal handling
* Have an understanding of common veterinary procedures
* Are committed to learning and continuous improvement
* Contribute positively to team culture
Applicants must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or hold a visa permitting long-term work in Australia.
