Austal Australia is delivering multiple naval shipbuilding and sustainment programs for the Royal Australian Navy, Australian Border Force, and the Department of Defence, employing approximately 1,000 people across facilities in Western Australia, Queensland, and the Northern Territory.
We are seeking a Configuration Management Lead to join our Austal Defence Shipbuilding team. This is an exciting opportunity during a period of growth, offering a rewarding career with a leading Defence Prime.
Key ResponsibilitiesCoordinate with the CM Manager and other departments to identify opportunities for improvement and develop strategic outlooks.Manage daily activities of the CM process, including establishing priorities and work tasks.Provide strategic planning to achieve program outcomes.Drive continuous improvement of CM processes, tools, methods, and techniques.Facilitate configuration management audits.Control changes against the approved baseline and implement approved modifications.Ensure all information within the CM database is accurate and current.Ensure day-to-day tasks conform to the configuration management plan.Your ExpertiseMinimum of 5 years' experience in a configuration management role, preferably within Defence.Formal training in Configuration Management.Experience with Product Lifecycle Management tools.Knowledge of CM principles, plans, procedures, and processes.Strong management and team-building skills.Ability to communicate CM knowledge effectively across the organisation.Applicants must be Australian citizens eligible for a Baseline Security Clearance through the Australian Department of Defence due to security requirements.
