The Role
As a Marine Manager at Mariner Diesel, your duties will include:
* Managing a small team of mechanics
* Organising & allocating jobs
* Liaising with the Service Manager
* Helping with servicing & maintaining marine engines and drivetrains during busy periods
* Assist with diagnosing and repairing engine & vessel systems
* Assist with maintaining marine generators (Mase, eniquest and others)
* Liaise with OEM's & boat owners with re-powering options (diesel and petrol)
* Performing on-water testing, collections, and deliveries
* Assist with installing new engines and systems
* Communicating clearly with both the team and customers
* Ordering parts
* Invoicing
What We're Looking For
* Qualified mechanical tradesperson (marine background preferred, but other industries welcome)
* Experience with diesel/petrol engines and 12v electrical systems
* Excellent diagnosis and troubleshooting skills
* Strong work ethic — self-motivated, reliable, and a team player
* Passion for boats and being on the water
* Valid driver's licence (boat licence a plus)
* At least 2 years marine experience
* Strong organisational skills
* Excellent time management
* High competency on a computer
* Volvo Penta experience desired
* Strong leadership skills desired
