**The Role**
This position is a leadership and administrative role being the Officer in Charge of the Joint Logistics Unit East - Hunter Valley. The unit is a Detachment of JLU (E) in the NNSW region, being geographically isolated from the HQ element. The role requires overall leadership of a diverse group of employees including ADF, APS, Industry Partners and Contractors. Strong leadership and communication skills ensures directed unit outcomes are achieved, while responsible for the Governance and Assurance activities of several Defence contracts including maintenance, retail stores and regional clothing store.
Responsible for overseeing the contract administration function including monitoring contractor performance and resolving local minor discrepancies. Administrative role is the first and second line supervisor for ADF and APS personnel, and ensuring unit connectivity with Executive members within JLU (E) HQ. Responsible for adherence to financial regularity requirements as a financial delegate and accountable for Supply Customer Accounts as the SCA Manager. Ensuring Stocktaking and Disposal activities are conducted as scheduled and directed.
The position is responsible for ensuring a safe and secure working environment. Sustaining a business rapport with unit stakeholders, base management and Industry Partners.
**About our Team**
Joint Logistics Unit (East) (JLU(E)) is an integrated military and civilian Business Unit of Logistics Operation Branch within Joint Logistics Command. Our services are delivered in collaboration with our Australian Industry Partners: Linfox, Serco and Ventia. JLU(E) operates out of five main sites: Moorebank, Singleton in the Hunter Valley, RAAF Richmond, Nowra at HMAS Albatross and RAAF Williamtown.
We provide logistics services including regional clothing stores, retail outlets, warehousing, distribution and materiel maintenance to customers located in New South Wales, nationally and overseas.
