Job Description:
A Laboratory Chemist is required to operate and maintain instrumentation. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising laboratory staff, prioritizing workload, ensuring compliance with quality control and health and safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
* Operating and maintaining laboratory equipment
* Supervising laboratory staff and training them as required
* Prioritizing daily workload to meet deadlines
* Ensuring all activities are conducted in accordance with quality procedures and reporting results accordingly
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, organisational skills and a keen attention to detail. They will have at least 2 years' experience in a commercial laboratory and hold a Bachelor of Science or equivalent qualification.
Essential Skills:
* GC/FID, GCMS or LCMSMS operation
* Organic sample preparation techniques
* Microsoft Office proficiency (Word, Excel, Outlook)
