We deliver services across the ACT covering children, families, young people and seniors including housing and mental health services.

The Mental Health team at Woden Community Service is seeking for a motivated **Recovery Worker**who will provide intensive support services to people experiencing mental illness leaving either acute care or need additional support to avoid hospital admission. This role involves working flexibly across the following programs:

- **Transition to Recovery (TRec)**: Delivering tailored, flexible, recovery-oriented assistance to participants transitioning from acute care or preventing hospital admissions**.**This program operates 7 days a week from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm.**:

- **Step Up Step Down (SUSD)**: Delivering intensive community-based outreach to support recovery and prevent or manage hospitalisation.

**Our Offer**:

- Fixed-term part-time (20 hours/week) appointment until 24 December 2025.
- Salary of SCS 4 $87,106.90 - $93,718.77 p.a. (pro-rata) plus 12% Superannuation.

**Key Accountabilities**:

- Assist people experiencing mental illness to have a valued role in their community and enhance their quality of life.
- Provide opportunities, support and services to develop or redevelop skills, build confidence and reconnect with the community.
- Build supportive, long -term respectful relationships with people experiencing mental illness, their families and carers.
- Ensure that services accessed by people experiencing mental illness are coordinated, integrated and complementary to other services in the community.
- Provide direct and personalised assistance through outreach services, providing referrals and monitoring and reporting progress.
- Provide opportunities to all SUSD/TRec participants to link to peer supports including peer groups, mentoring and education activities.
- Provide a welcoming and professional environment for families, service providers and team members through the provision of consistent high quality person-centred practice.
- Provide regular communication of service user's feedback and information to the relevant team members.

**Experience and Qualifications**:

- Relevant tertiary Qualifications in Psychology, Community Development and Education, Counselling or Social Work will be preferred. The minimum qualification for the role is a Certificate IV in Mental Health or equivalent.
- Extensive skills, knowledge and experience in providing direct and personalised assistance through outreach services, providing referrals, monitoring and reporting progress.
- An understanding and demonstrated awareness of strength-based, solution focused and recovery approaches. An understanding of social justice principles.
- Demonstrated ability to build supportive and respectful relationships with people experiencing mental illness and mental distress including family members and carers.
- Effective communication skills, including the ability to develop strong relationships and trust with people experiencing mental illness, their families and carers.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a small team and a willingness to participate in reflective practice.
- Demonstrated understanding of professional boundaries, privacy and confidentiality.
- Please note that weekend and night work is required. Program runs 7 days a week 9am to 9pm. _

**_To be eligible for employment, you must have an active Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) Card, working rights in Australia, and be willing to undertake background checks required for the position, including a National Police Check._**
