An established food manufacturing business is seeking an experienced Head of QA / QA Manager to lead food safety, quality systems, and continuous improvement across the site.
This senior role is ideal for a hands-on quality leader who can partner with operations and senior management to drive best-practice standards.
About the Role
Reporting to senior leadership, you will take full ownership of the site's Quality Management System, ensuring compliance with all regulatory, certification, and customer requirements.
You will work closely with production, operations, suppliers, and customers to ensure product integrity, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Quality & Compliance
Lead, implement and maintain Quality Management Systems aligned to SQF, HACCP and relevant food safety standards
Ensure compliance with Australian regulations and export market requirements
Manage internal, external and third-party audits, including corrective and preventative actions (CARs/NCRs)
Drive GMP compliance across the site, including sanitation, allergen management, chemical control and hygiene programs
Oversee product traceability, recall readiness and non-conforming product management
Investigate customer complaints and lead root cause analysis and corrective actions
Analyse quality and production data to identify trends and improvement opportunities
Supplier, Customer & NPD Support
Define and manage raw material quality specifications and supplier approval programs
Engage with key customers to ensure quality standards and expectations are met
Support new product development to ensure consistent quality and compliance
Identify risks and improvement opportunities through audits, data analysis and performance monitoring
