A prominent Federal Government agency is seeking 4 experienced Software Engineers (Java / Web Developers) to join a high-performing technical delivery team. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the development of a large-scale national data platform, enabling secure data ingestion, enrichment and sharing across partner agencies. The successful Software Engineers will work across key projects delivering modular, standards-compliant software components, while supporting ongoing enhancements and BAU activities. These roles are based in Canberra with hybrid working arrangements available. The positions offer an initial 12-month contract with 2 x 12-month extension options.
The successful Software Engineers will be responsible for, but not limited to:
* Develop modular, reusable software components aligned to development and system standards.
* Interpret software and system requirements, provide estimates and support delivery planning.
* Support the full software development lifecycle including design, development, testing and production support.
* Resolve technical issues, complete peer reviews and maintain technical documentation.
To be successful, the Software Engineers will demonstrate:
* 3+ years' experience as a Software Engineer within the ICT industry.
* Strong experience with Java development, with Apache NiFi and Kafka experience highly regarded.
* Proven ability to apply development processes, standards, code reviews and best practices.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
