Music Theory Educator
Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled Music Theory Educator to teach structured, classroom-based lessons to groups of up to 15 students.
Responsibilities:
* Teach foundational, intermediate, and advanced music theory, covering notation, harmony, rhythm, and form.
* Guide students through essential topics such as scales, key signatures, chord structures, and harmonic progressions.
* Introduce advanced theoretical concepts, including chromatic harmony, counterpoint, and 20th- and 21st-century compositional techniques.
* Provide in-depth analysis of musical forms, from binary and ternary structures to fugues and sonata-allegro form.
* Develop students' skills in voice-leading, modulation techniques, and contemporary harmonic practices.
* Foster a deeper understanding of compositional techniques such as motivic transformation and thematic development.
* Offer personalized feedback and mentorship to help students refine their theoretical understanding and musical skills.
Requirements:
* A strong academic background with a focus on music theory or a related field.
* Expertise in harmony, counterpoint, form, and advanced theoretical concepts.
* Experience teaching group classes, preferably in a structured academic setting.
* Excellent communication skills and proficiency in English.
