We are seeking expressions of interest from motivated and experienced OPFOR Planners to support Joint Collective Training from Canberra.

ABOUT THE ROLE
The OPFOR Planner will act as a subject matter expert on adversary forces, supporting the design, coordination and execution of Opposing Force (OPFOR) elements within ADF exercises.
Key responsibilities include:
* Acting as an SME on OPFOR, maintaining current knowledge of real-world adversary forces, capabilities and operational tactics.
* Supporting coordination of OPFOR requirements across Exercise Life Cycle planning events.
* Executing operational plans as OPFOR Lead during exercises and command post activities.
* Providing analytical insight into adversary doctrine, platforms and contemporary conflict trends.
* Maintaining and contributing to an OPFOR intelligence library.
* Supporting development and application of modelling and simulation systems, including operator training and execution support.
* Contributing to professional development activities through briefings on adversary capabilities and lessons learned.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
* TS(PV) security clearance.
* Demonstrated expertise in adversary analysis, OPFOR development or related operational domains.
* Strong understanding of:
o Joint exercise planning and execution doctrine
o Joint operations and training frameworks
o ADF command and control (C2) doctrine
* Experience applying the Joint Military Appreciation Process (JMAP).
In addition, you will bring:
* Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
* Excellent stakeholder engagement and collaboration capabilities
* Ability to contribute to complex planning and execution activities
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
GENERAL EXPECTATIONS
* Contribute to development of exercise design artefacts, scenarios and control documentation.
* Support all phases of the Exercise Life Cycle, including After Action Review.
* Assist in development of SOPs and continuous improvement initiatives.
* Provide input into scenario development, scripting and exercise injects.
* Support execution of exercise control functions and operational planning activities.
* Collaborate across teams and provide flexible support to ensure successful delivery.
