Data & Network Architect | Melbourne (Hybrid) | 6M contract | Multiple roles available to Start ASAP
About The Role
We're looking for a Data & Network Architect to play a key role in shaping and delivering next-generation network and inventory solutions. This is a hands‐on architecture role where you'll bridge business needs and technical design—driving scalable, high‐quality solutions across complex telecom environments.
The successful incumbents will work across architecture, data modelling, and automation, helping to modernise network inventory platforms and support large‐scale transformation initiatives.
Responsibilities
* Translate business, customer, and regulatory requirements into scalable architecture solutions
* Lead the design and optimisation of network inventory data models (physical, logical, service layers)
* Drive data quality improvements and large‐scale inventory transformation initiatives
* Evaluate vendor solutions and guide technology selection and delivery
* Lead proof of concepts (PoCs) and trials for automation and orchestration platforms
* Design and develop tools, applications, and APIs to expose network services and resources
* Contribute to network inventory migrations, including data extraction and transformation
* Ensure alignment with TM Forum (TMF) standards and APIs
* Collaborate with stakeholders across engineering, product, and operations
* Support continuous improvement across systems, processes, and engineering practices
Key Technical Skills You'll Need To Have
* Strong experience with Network Inventory systems
* Expertise in data modelling and metadata design
* Hands‐on experience with Graph databases (Neo4j)
* Experience building and managing ETL pipelines
* Proficiency in Python or Node.js
* Automation and scripting (e.g. Python, Ansible)
* Strong experience with REST APIs
* Knowledge of database design for scalable systems
What You Bring
* 5‐10+ years' experience in network, data, or solution architecture roles
* Solid understanding of Layer 0–3 network technologies
* Experience with carrier‐grade systems and large‐scale migrations
* Strong background in automation and workflow development
* Familiarity with Agile, DevOps, and CI/CD practices
* Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders
* Experience with TMF 633, 634, 638, 639 APIs - desirable
* Exposure to AI/ML applications in network/data environments - desirable
* Knowledge of OSS/BSS integrations - desirable
* Experience with network orchestration platforms - desirable
* Ability to define technology roadmaps and long‐term strategies - desirable
