Position summary:
The role requires:
· To provide a high level of operational leadership to ensure that the InterCentral Logistics Altona Warehouse operation runs safely, effectively and at the lowest achievable cost. Ensuring that we achieve supply chain efficiency through operational excellence in systems, process and people.
· Perform assigned tasks in accordance with all InterCentral, Environmental, Health and Safety, and Ethical policies, programs, budgets and targets.
· Uphold the InterCentral values and to work in a way that contributes to the Company's vision.
· Manage the day-to-day operations of the ICL Altona Warehouse.
· Management of local service providers to meet ICL SLAs through day-to-day activity performance management and reviews.
· Report on Daily operational requirements, Safety performance, Transport fulfilment, People and Carrier performance reporting.
· Cross functional alignment with Supply Planning & Customer Services teams.
· Support Logistics Procurement Strategies in consultation with Key Stakeholders within the Supply Chain Environment for InterCentral Logistics.
Position responsibilities:
· Management of Staff operational performance within ICL Altona operations.
o Clearly define business expectations and targets
o Flexible People operations process to meet changing environments.
o Ensure that the ICL Altona operational performance levels at a minimum achieves the Performance Improvement Program requirements.
o Coordinate optimal staff resource levels to ensure daily/ weekly volumes are achieved. Focus on timekeeping and absenteeism.
o Ensure that resources that are applied to all warehouse functions occur within agreed budget levels
· Understanding of the InterCentral Supply chain within Australia from Warehouse to Customer.
o Cross functional alignment with Supply planning to ensure accurate defined SKU mapping and facility structure
o Development and implementation of Logistics and Distribution systems and processes.
o Best practice methodology, stay abreast of current warehousing trends and innovation
o A positive team focused on quality, customer service, safety, results and profit.
o Progress the Team Logistics "can do" attitude and provide leadership within all relationships.
· Cost Management and reporting
o Control of ICL Altona budget by reviewing cost, rates & services in conjunction with National Operations Manager and administering best practices.
o Support Operations Manager to review and develop new initiatives to improve warehouse processes, performance & productivity.
o Complete understanding of ICL Warehousing policies and reporting of breaches of policy to the appropriate person.
· Logistics KPI's & SLA performance capture and reporting.
o Support weekly DIFOT, RDD, CFR, OTIF reports related to Altona warehouse.
o People performance and delivery to customer KPI's and SLA requirements.
o To actively review current operations and processes and if necessary, via controlled reviews and cross functional support from ICL, develop initiatives to ensure ICL Distribution is at the forefront in meeting Customer expectations and changing supply chain initiatives at lowest cost.
· Compliance, health & safety management.
o Monitoring of compliance and legislated laws in regards transport providers, around
ICL Altona.
o Comply with and champion all legislative and regulatory responsibilities relating to health, safety, environment and all site-specific policies and goals.
o Implement and actively participate in the ICL OH&S policies and procedures.
o Secure, monitored of forklifts using latest technology and vehicle tracking.
o Complete understanding of ICL Safety policies and reporting of breaches of policy to the appropriate person.
· Stock Write off finance allocations.
o In conjunction with National Operations Manager and administering best practices.
o Identify finished goods loss events and collectively work on improvement opportunities.
o Accurate allocation of any Stock Write off.
o Ensure Transport accountability for tracking, minimize spoilage and stock loss.
o Focus on warehouse inventory accuracy to achieve KPI targets
o At minimum achieve agreed IRA targets with a continual focus on achieving 100% accuracy
· Other Responsibilities
o Ensure that full care is taken in the performance of all duties in order not to put their health and safety or that of fellow employees at risk
Required skills, qualifications and experience:
Technical Knowledge:
· Proficient in SAP, Carton Cloud or other related Inventory Management Systems preferred
· Advanced in MS Excel desired
· Technically competent in management systems and more broadly in the discipline where possible.
· Sound Warehousing process knowledge
· Knowledgeable about various Transport processes. (Rail, Road, Sea, Air)

Qualifications:
· Tertiary qualification in Logistics or related field preferred
Experience:
· Min of 1-3 years' experience in similar role or logistics role in a FMCG environment
· Previous experience working with SAP, Carton Cloud or other Inventory Management Systems
· Physical & financial planning & forecasting skills
· Strong strategic analysis and decision making
· Sound process improvement experience
· Good understanding of financial impact of good budget control practices
· Driving operational performance improvement
