About The Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Voice Services Specialist to join our ICT team. This role is responsible for supporting the delivery, maintenance, and continuous improvement of telephony services across the District, ensuring reliable, secure, and fit‐for‐purpose voice solutions that support clinical and corporate operations. The role also contributes to the implementation of new telephony systems and upgrades across both new and existing sites. In partnership with relevant ICT stakeholders, you will assist in developing and supporting strategic voice technology solutions aligned with the district's operational and service delivery needs.
Key Accountabilities
Provide day‐to‐day administration of telephony systems across the District, including MACs and management of faults, using a call‐management system to track and prioritise workload.
* Perform proactive maintenance of telephony systems, including ordering new services and equipment.
* Maintain complete and accurate service records across all sites.
* Prepare briefing notes, reports, and other documentation on telephony‐related matters.
* Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) relevant to the role.
* Assist with programmes of work such as system upgrades, new site deployments, and technology migrations.
* Assist in the development and review of policies and procedures for fixed and mobile telephony services.
* Participate in an on‐call roster as required.
* Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and key stakeholders for ongoing maintenance and projects.
About You
You are a skilled technical professional with experience in complex voice environments and a commitment to delivering secure, reliable telephony services. You work effectively both independently and as part of a team, building strong relationships across ICT, clinical staff, and vendors.
You Will Demonstrate
* Experience with enterprise voice systems, PABXs, duress systems, and platforms such as Mitel MX One, Mitel MBG and Cisco CUCM.
* Experience with enterprise network systems such as Aruba, Cisco and Extreme.
* Knowledge of VoIP protocols (SIP, H.323, RTP).
* Knowledge of WAN/LAN networking and routing principles including Layer 3 protocols (BGP, OSPF), VLAN/VRF and QoS.
* Ability to troubleshoot voice quality and connectivity issues.
* Strong communication skills and collaborative approach.
* Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience.
* Current Class C driver's licence and willingness to travel within the District.
