The opportunityWe're seeking an EOI from a Defence Policy & Governance Analyst to join a specialist team delivering a Governance Implementation program for Defence. The work is substantive and directly shapes how Defence manages its communications security obligations at the enterprise level.
You'll contribute to the development of formal governance artefacts including a capstone Policy, a structured policy hierarchy mapping existing and proposed publications across the policy suite, and a traceability framework linking legislation, whole of government obligations and Defence-specific directives to governance functions and controls. You'll also support the mapping of Defence committee structures and information flows to produce a Strategic Committee Coordination Plan that aligns governance with Defence's broader decision-making architecture.
What we're looking forDemonstrated experience drafting formal Defence policy documents, including capstone policies, subordinate standards and procedural artefactsAbility to conduct regulatory and legislative analysisExperience designing policy hierarchies or publication trees,Familiarity with Defence committee structures, governance forums and secretariat functionsPractical understanding of COMSEC governance, DCCA policy frameworks, ACSIs, or related Defence security policy environments (direct custodial or practitioner experience advantageous but not essential)
