Job Description:
The Central Australian Aboriginal Congress is seeking a highly motivated and experienced NDIS Connector Coordinator to join our team in Alice Springs.
This is a full-time position that requires excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the delivery of services under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and working closely with clients, participants, and their families.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about supporting people with disabilities and has a strong understanding of the NDIS and its requirements. The ideal candidate will have experience working with Aboriginal communities, knowledge of the local culture, and the ability to communicate effectively in both English and at least one local Aboriginal language.
Key Responsibilities:
* Coordinate the delivery of services under the NDIS
* Work closely with clients, participants, and their families to understand their needs and develop personalized plans
* Collaborate with local organizations, the NDIA, and mainstream services to ensure seamless service delivery
* Provide high-quality support and advocacy to clients and their families
* Manage and resolve conflicts and issues as they arise
* Use a computer for data entry, case note recording, and report writing
* Travel occasionally overnight and work from remote locations
Requirements:
* Australian citizenship or residency
* Aboriginal descent and identification as an Aboriginal person
* Knowledge of the local Aboriginal communities and culture
* Demonstrated ability to work independently with limited supervision
* Confidentiality and discretion in handling sensitive information
* Ability to build strong, meaningful relationships with clients, participants, and their families
* Fluency in one or more local Aboriginal languages
* Understanding of the NDIS and its requirements
* Experience working with Aboriginal people with a disability
* Current NT working with Children card (Ochre card)
* Willingness to obtain a National Police Clearance
* No ongoing or outstanding issues with previous employers
* References provided are current, recent, work-related, and aware of the application
* Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 with three doses
