About the Role
This role is a permanent part‐time position based in the Barossa Valley.
As part of an exciting period of growth, Barossa Veterinary Service is expanding into a brand‐new hospital space designed to support the future of veterinary care in our region. With this growth comes the opportunity to create stronger systems, improve workflow efficiency, and build dedicated support roles that allow our veterinary and nursing teams to deliver exceptional patient care.
This newly created Veterinary Pharmacy Technician role will support the smooth day‐to‐day running of our pharmacy and hospital medication systems within the new hospital environment. The role has been designed to help improve workflow, organisation, medication preparation, and inventory management across our busy mixed animal practice.
You'll work closely with our veterinary and nursing teams to support medication dispensing, pharmacy organisation, hospital workflow, and inventory management.
Key Responsibilities
* Preparing and dispensing medications under veterinary supervision
* Processing prescriptions and ensuring accurate patient records
* Managing pharmacy inventory, stock rotation, and stock ordering
* Assisting with controlled drug records and medication compliance
* Supporting hospital workflow and ensuring patients have required medications prepared
* Maintaining pharmacy cleanliness, organisation, and safety standards
* Assisting with consumables, treatment preparation, and workflow coordination
* Supporting continuous improvement of systems, efficiency, and patient care processes
