About you: In your new role you will * Review/provide advice in relation to matters being investigated by the Office of the Health Ombudsman or Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency. * Manage CHHHS's involvement in litigation/legal proceedings in various courts/jurisdictions (i.e judicial reviews, coronial investigations and inquests, criminal proceedings, QCAT, personal injury claims, human rights and anti-discrimination matters) * Prepare/review statements to inform coronial investigations and instruct Counsel and/or represent the interests of CHHHS as an advocate at Coronial inquests. About your opportunity: In this position you will * Contribute to the development of policy and procedures, lead training and professional development of staff including junior legal staff and coordinate and develop legal awareness and educational programs for CHHHS employees. * Prepare high quality and strategic communications and correspondence including letters, memorandums and briefing notes for CHHHS Executives, Director-General and/or Minister for Health. * Liaise with a wide range of stakeholders within and external to CHHHS to facilitate effective legal service delivery. About your role: * Provide professional legal advice (often in urgent circumstances and without supervision) across a wide range of areas. * Prepare/review documentation associated with reviews and investigations under the Hospital and Health Boards Act 2011. * Participate in and maintain a proactive approach to self-development, including achievement of CPD points.
