Queensland Academies Creative Industries Campus (QACI) is seeking an Attendance Officer to support a positive learning environment by monitoring student attendance and liaising with parents and carers.About The SchoolQueensland Academies Creative Industries Campus (QACI)is a 7-storey campus catering to students in Years 10 to 12.
As a selective-entry senior high school, QACI offers unique learning opportunities through the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme curriculum, supported by a culture that is inclusive and socially diverse.About The RoleAs the Attendance Officer, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:Generate daily reports on absenteeism, send SMS messages to parents/carers, follow up with teachers, and document relevant information in an Excel spreadsheet and on OneSchool.Generate a 'Daily Attendance Report' every morning, provide it to all teaching staff and deputy principals, and advise teachers of any amendments to attendance records due to late notifications.Collect and coordinate data to determine and document reasons for chronic student absences, monitor student programs, and liaise with relevant staff to address issues affecting engagement.Maintain a database of students who are independent, in care arrangements, subject to legal orders, or affected by other circumstances that may impact attendance.Monitor attendance to identify students experiencing problems, enable early intervention, and provide information to assist teachers in managing non-attendance issues.Build relationships with families of persistently absent students to encourage regular attendance, support teachers in addressing attendance barriers, and contribute to strategies that address non-attendance.Identify and refer students, particularly those at risk, to appropriate support services to address barriers to attendance and achievement.Provide administrative support, including assistance at the student counter and management of timetable variations.Provide basic first aid to students.Perform other duties consistent with the responsibilities of the position as directed by the supervisor or nominated delegate.Please refer to the attached role description for any mandatory requirements for this position.Interested?
