Our client, Gongues Constructions, are a medium-sized civil construction company who specialise in delivering complex and technical projects primarily working across Government contracts.
We are now partnering with them to find their next Accounts Payable Officer to join their team on a 12-month contract. Located in Cameron Park, this is a full-time (8.30am-5pm) position based in their office.
**You’ll be responsible for**:
- Processing and entering accounts payable invoices for four company entities
- Ensuring timely and accurate reconciliation and payment of creditor accounts
- Fostering positive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
- Checking and recording contractor and subcontractor claims, and ensuring compliance
- Ordering office supplies and monitoring reception
- Maintaining company vehicle registration and asset register
- Assisting with the preparation of activity statements
- Carrying out additional finance and administrative duties as required by the business
**Essentially you’ll have**:
- Experience working in an accounts payable position and with preliminary activity statement preparation
- Exposure working in the construction industry would be desirable but not essential
- Basic knowledge of accountancy and taxation law as far as GST is concerned
- Basic understanding and knowledge of WHSEQ
- Highly accurate data entry skills
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to speak with a wide range of stakeholders
- A proactive approach and positive time management skills
- Confident with picking up and navigating systems, previous experience with QuickBooks an advantage
- Ability to undergo pre-employment medical and police check
