An opportunity exists for an experienced Senior Accountant / Supervisor to join our friendly team at our Penshurst office.
The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work full-time or flexible part-time hours, such as four days per week.
The office is conveniently located near Penshurst railway station.
We are a proactive firm of Chartered Accountants, Financial Planners and Solicitors requiring a qualified senior accountant with a minimum of 3-5 years experience in a public practice environment.
The successful applicant will have the opportunity to manage a portfolio of clients and specialise in taxation planning and wealth creation.
Internal and external training is offered for the suitable applicant to enhance their skills and knowledge further.
About the role
You will assist the Principal, a Chartered Accountant, Certified Financial Planner and Self-Managed Superannuation Fund Specialist Advisor, in preparing and presenting Tax Planning / Business Advisory (asset protection, financial statements, and providing taxation advice for a portfolio of business and professional clients.
Candidates must be Australian citizens or permanent residents with full working rights in Australia.
You will be CA/CPA qualified, have a minimum of 3-5 years experience, and be enthusiastic about continual learning.
You will also possess the necessary people skills to communicate with your portfolio of clients effectively.
What you'll be doing
Manage a portfolio of business and professional clients
Prepare and present Tax Planning / Business Advisory (Asset Protection)
Deliver end-to-end accounting and business services, including preparation of financial statements, tax returns, and Business Activity Statements (BAS)
Assist in providing strategic advice to clients on a range of financial and operational matters to support their business growth
Liaise with clients to understand their needs and goals, and develop tailored solutions
Manage a portfolio of clients including contact, preparation and on time lodgements
Stay up-to-date with changes in accounting regulations and legislation
Contribute to the continuous improvement of the firm's processes and procedures
Mentoring and collaborating with staff members including peer reviewing their work
To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following:
CA/CPA Qualified accountant with at least 3-5 years experience in a public practice environment
Strong technical skills in accounting, taxation, and business advisory services
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build strong client relationships
Proactive problem-solving skills and the ability to provide commercially-focused advice
Proven experience dealing with a portfolio of clients
Preferred but not essential experience and knowledge using Sage Handisoft
A desire to work onsite in an office environment
Australian work rights are required for this position
