About the Role
The Canberra office is on a progressive growth trajectory and is expanding its Program and Project Assurance Services team. In this pivotal role, you will collaborate with a high‐performing, results‐driven team to apply your expertise in portfolio, program and project management assurance. You will audit large, complex engagements that shape the future of public sector delivery for our federal government clients, providing delivery insights, pragmatic actions and ensuring delivery effectiveness, risk management, compliance and maturity.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the scoping, fieldwork and reporting of program and project assurance reviews, assessing overall delivery health and delivery effectiveness, risk management, compliance, and maturity to help clients achieve successful outcomes.
* Serve as the main point of contact for program and project client teams to deliver real‐time, meaningful insights with pragmatic recommendations that drive continuous delivery improvements and alignment with strategic objectives.
* Work alongside senior leaders in the firm to generate insights that matter, using data analysis and clear, tailored reporting for a diverse range of stakeholders.
* Drive business development activities across the team, including end‐to‐end proposal development, broader market activity and client presentations.
* Coach, mentor, support and educate junior team members, fostering a culture of collaboration, knowledge sharing and professional development.
* Understand and apply BDO's assurance and evaluation methodologies, tools and templates to ensure a rigorous, consistent and value‐driven approach across all engagements.

Qualifications
* Demonstrated experience in program or project assurance, performance evaluation and audit processes, with exposure to federal government frameworks and best practices in risk management, project governance and legislative compliance.
* Strong internal drive, growth mindset and clear aspirations for leadership and professional development.
* Proven business development acumen and the natural ability to build and maintain client relationships.
* Strategic and critical‐thinking mindset, able to brainstorm solutions with internal and external stakeholders.
* Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate across a variety of mediums (in‐person, virtual, reports, emails, presentations) within a multidisciplinary team.
* Relevant tertiary degree (or equivalent) in project management, risk management, commerce/business or IT.
* Certification in project management methodologies (preferably Agile, PMP, MSP, PRINCE2, PMBOK or a similar certification).
* Strong background in project management methodologies, tools and best practices.
* Australian Citizenship is required and the ability to secure an Australian Government Security Clearance.
