Who are we looking for? We are currently seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Deputy Maintenance Controller to join the team at McDermott Aviation, based on the Sunshine Coast, QLD. Reporting directly to the Head of Aircraft Airworthiness & Maintenance Control (HAAMC), you’ll provide expert operational and regulatory support across a diverse rotary fleet. About the Role As Deputy Maintenance Controller, you’ll work closely with HAAMC, Fleet Team Leaders, Engineering Base Managers, and the Supply Chain to ensure all aircraft remain compliant and maintained to the highest standard. You will also step into the HAAMC role when required and be trusted to represent the airworthiness team at meetings and in decision-making. This is a full-time, permanent role working Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Fleet Includes: B214B, B214ST, B206, B204, B47, AS365 N2/3 & AS355 Essential Duties & Responsibilities Support and deputise for the HAAMC as required Monitor and ensure compliance with CASA & FAA regulations Represent the airworthiness team in internal and external meetings Review and manage airworthiness directives (EASA, FAA, CASA) Manage the servicing, maintenance, and scheduling programs across the fleet Liaise with base maintenance teams on technical issues Contribute to ongoing improvement of Maintenance Control Manuals, MELs, and Systems of Maintenance Drive continuous improvement in the aircraft reliability program Required Experience & Qualifications Proven aviation industry experience in aircraft maintenance control Suitable knowledge and regulatory understanding to act as Deputy HAAMC Strong understanding of CASA regulations (FAA knowledge desirable) Familiarity with aircraft maintenance documentation and systems Current Driver’s Licence Able to travel nationally and internationally if needed Prior experience in a similar leadership or airworthiness role is highly desirable What’s in it for you?
