Annually, the RCH has 300,000+ Specialist Clinic appointments, 90,000+ Emergency Department presentations and 20,000 elective surgeries.RCH enjoys high employee engagement and is committed to staff safety and a positive culture through enactment of our Compact.For further Information on RCH is availablehere .The Role:Two fixed term part time opportunties are available to join the PIPER Neonatologist group to cover parental leave.One part time fixed term role, up to 17.5 hours per week for a year from June 2025 due to parental leave cover.One part time fixed term role, up to 9 hours per week from July to December 2025 due to parental leave cover.The Paediatric Infant and Perinatal Emergency Retrieval service (PIPER) is based at The Royal Children's Hospital campus in Parkville.The PIPER Neonatal Consultant group comprises 18 Neonatologists who provide cover 24/7 with onsite cover from 0700-2100 weekdays and from 0700-1900 on weekends. They primarily manage emergency referrals and retrievals. Additional roles include participating in clinical governance, education, research and administration activities of the service.You will be responsible for:Leading the triage and stabilisation advice process including identification of an appropriate receiving unit bedWorking with nursing colleagues to ensure appropriate solutions for complex clinical and logistic issues.Leading escalation processesClinical governance activities including case review and quality improvement initiatives.Leading and participating in multidisciplinary education activities which may include outreach education in non-tertiary hospitalsProviding professional guidance and support for the services JMS and nursing staff.You will have:FRACP or equivalent in NeonatologyDemonstrated capacity to work harmoniously and collaboratively within a small teamProven leadership skillsSpecialist Medical Registration with AHPRATo view the Position Description please click hereShortlisting for this position will commence immediately.
