About the role
Are you passionate about supporting young people and helping them to grow as leaders in their communities? We are seeking a dynamic, creative and capable Youth Officer to coordinate youth engagement programs and activities in Central Goldfields.
In this role, you will work across a diverse range of community settings to deliver events and activities for young people, including the Amplify and Engage! funded programs. You will work closely with young people to co-design activities, and partner with schools, community groups, Council teams, and other organisations to deliver on program objectives.
We are looking for someone with:
- A strong understanding of youth co-design principles and how to apply them
- Professional qualifications and/or relevant experience in youth engagement or community development
- An ability to work independently and manage their time with minimal direction, and
- Skills and experience in program coordination, including the ability to prepare reports and manage budgets with supervision.
Training in youth alcohol and drug management and prevention is also highly desired, but not required. Opportunities to undertake and update this training will be made available as part of the role.

This role is part time (3 days/week) and will require the incumbent to work outside the normal spread of hours to deliver programs and activities. Working arrangements are flexible and will be negotiated between the incumbent and their supervisor as the need arises.
The successful candidate will be required to hold a valid and current Victorian Working with Children Check (Employee), and pass a National Police Check. A current driver's licence is also critical to this position.
