Our client, The Dhanda Family Trust T/A SDI Plastics, is seeking a full-time Mechanical Engineer who is proactive, reliable, and a supportive team player with a strong work ethic. Job Responsibility:
· Design, develop, and evaluate mechanical and tooling solutions for plastic product manufacturing, including injection moulding machines, tools, jigs and fixtures, and automated production systems used in high-volume plastics manufacturing.
Duties:
· Collaborate with product design, tooling, and engineering teams to conceptualise and create mechanical designs for plastic parts, mould tooling, and manufacturing systems that meet customer specifications and production requirements.
· Develop and implement testing and validation processes for new tooling designs, prototype parts, and manufacturing methods to ensure functionality, performance, and manufacturability.
· Generate working prototypes and prototype tooling for early validation, customer review, and pilot runs, using rapid prototyping tools where applicable.
· Perform detailed engineering calculations and feasibility analysis to support design decisions, including structural, thermal, and motion analyses relevant to machine components and injection mould tooling.
· Create, review, and maintain technical drawings, and specifications using computer-aided design (CAD) software to communicate designs clearly to internal teams, suppliers, and manufacturers.
· Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams including industrial designers, toolmakers, production engineers, quality assurance, and external vendors/contractors to deliver robust manufacturing solutions.
· Cohesively work with various company's departments to ensure the manufactured products are manufactured at the highest quality and are ISO 9001 compliant.
· Perform detailed documentation and version control throughout the design and tooling development process to track changes and ensure design integrity and regulatory compliance.
· Manage project timelines, track milestones, and work within budget constraints to ensure timely completion of engineering deliverables and support SDI Plastics' manufacturing schedule and customer commitments.
· Involved in daily toolbox meetings to discuss and complete current orders and allocate to correct production schedules.

Pay: $80,000.00 – $100,000.00 per year
