About the Role
We are seeking a Maintenance Worker for a Part-Time opportunity to join our friendly and dedicated team at The Cairns Aged Care Centre at Chapel Hill, QLD.
The position will be 3 Days per week - Max Term (12 Months) with a review for extension thereafter.
Purpose of the Role
As a collaborative member of the staff team, the Maintenance Worker is responsible for the general maintenance of the internal and external environment of the site.
They will ensure safety, preventative, and breakdown maintenance is undertaken in consultation with leadership.
The Maintenance Worker will complete regulatory equipment checks and assist with housekeeping and support functions to ensure optimal standards in the physical environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Undertake basic repairs to building, equipment, and assets not requiring trades skills.
* Conduct physical inspections of property, assets, and equipment for safety and compliance.
* Support your line manager in ensuring quality, efficient, and effective service delivery by contractors.
* Carry out safety requirements, including fire safety, electrical, and legislative tasks, according to standards and policies.
* Complete scheduled corrective and preventative maintenance activities.
* Maintain a safe and aesthetically pleasing environment for residents, visitors, and staff.
* Provide support to other facilities and be willing to travel interstate if required.
* Act as a role model promoting The Salvation Army Aged Care (TSAAC) Vision, Mission, and Values.
Skills and Experience
* Knowledge of the aged care industry and safety standards (preferred but not mandatory).
* Ability to understand and execute building and grounds maintenance, workplace safety, risk management, and basic computer skills.
* Proficiency with electrical power tools and hand tools.
* Effective time management skills.

Role Requirements
* National Police Check.
* Current Driver's License.
* Ability to travel interstate if required.
* NDIS worker screening check.
