Our Quality and Mission Assurance team plays a crucial role in enabling our programs and functions to succeed. Their activities include audit and assurance, process improvements, supplier approvals, risk management, and best practice facilitation across the organisation. They also manage our Quality Management System, ensuring compliance with regulatory, contractual, and legislative requirements.
Your Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for overseeing the integration of aviation safety standards into our Special Purpose Aircraft program. This program has been delivering comprehensive support to the Royal Australian Air Force's 34 Squadron since 2001.
The SPA team is based at RAAF Fairbairn in Canberra and manages maintenance, training, and logistics for a fleet of Boeing BBJs and Dassault Falcon 7Xs Business Jets. Your duties will include:
* Managing regulatory compliance
* Oversight of the Aviation Safety Management System (AvSMS)
* Conducting safety incident and accident investigations
* Driving safety performance improvements
About You
You should have experience in aviation safety, preferably within the Defence or Aerospace sectors. Proficiency in accredited Aviation SMS and incident investigation methodologies such as ICAM, MEDA, or TapRoot is essential. You must hold aviation-based engineering or maintenance qualifications and have a thorough understanding of Civil or Defence Aviation Safety Regulations.
You will be a strategic thinker with exceptional risk assessment skills, able to thrive in dynamic environments. Your expertise in managing complex safety programs and implementing best practices will significantly boost both safety and operational excellence.
