The Design Director is responsible for leading all design development aspects, including scope definition, concept designs, and client-side management. This role ensures design intent is met during construction and collaborates with project managers to align design scope with project objectives.
Key Responsibilities
 * Lead cross-functional teams and manage client-side design activities throughout the project lifecycle.
 * Provide clear instructions to stakeholders and ensure compliance with design intent.
 * Collaborate with project managers to align design scope with project goals and deliverables.
 * Facilitate design reviews, workshops, and decision-making processes.
Qualifications
 * Relevant engineering degree or equivalent recognized under the Washington Accord.
 * Chartered Professional Engineer registration (Engineers Australia) is desirable.
 * Valid driver's license (Class C).
 * Minimum 10 years' experience in multi-disciplinary engineering design, with at least 5 years leading design teams.
 * Proven ability to manage engineering delivery across diverse infrastructure projects.
 * Strong technical expertise in concept development and resolving complex design challenges.
 * Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
 * Solid understanding of contractual, legal, commercial, and legislative requirements in engineering environments.
