Traineeship Opportunity Certificate III in Business Townsville
Volunteering North Queensland (VNQ) is looking for a motivated and community-minded person to join our team in a full-time paid traineeship starting January 2026.
This 12-month role offers the chance to complete a Certificate III in Business while gaining real experience in a friendly not-for-profit organisation that supports hundreds of volunteers and community groups across the region.
This traineeship is ideal for a young jobseeker or long-term unemployed person who wants to build confidence, learn recent skills, and make a difference in their community. Each day will bring something new, from helping organise volunteer events to assisting with communications, administration, and community engagement projects.
Purpose of the Role
- The Trainee will provide practical support to Volunteering North Queensland (VNQ) while completing a nationally recognised Certificate III in Business.
- This full‑time traineeship offers a hands‑on learning experience that builds skills in administration, events, communication, and community engagement.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide day‑to‑day administrative support and maintain office systems
- Assist with volunteer referrals, data entry, and communication updates
- Support the coordination of community events, expos, and training workshops
- Help develop and distribute marketing materials, newsletters, and resources
- Prepare survey reports, spreadsheets, and forms using Microsoft Office and Canva
- Participate in training and assessments with the RTO (TAFE Queensland)

Supervision and Support
- You will be mentored by experienced staff and supported by Senior projects officers in Marketing, Membership and Grants.

Send your resume and a short cover note to the Projects Officer by 14th December 2025. Applicants must be available to attend a group information session on the traineeship on Tuesday 16th December. Further information will be provided once the information session is confirmed.

VNQ office is open Tuesday‑Thursday 9:00am‑2:30pm. Applicant will be required on other days and hours outside this time frame. We are willing to be flexible for the right candidate.
