Project Overview
This international volunteer project focuses on empowering adult women who have migrated to Kathmandu from rural areas to work as domestic helpers. Many of these women have little or no formal education, making it challenging to navigate life in today's world. Volunteers will work as teachers at Chetana Mahila Secondary School, helping women develop essential skills, build confidence, and broaden their horizons.
Key Responsibilities
* Teach 4–5 lessons a day on English and other essential subjects with flexible methods (course books, conversational techniques, creative activities).
* Adapt lessons to meet students' age, background and learning needs.
* Introduce additional subjects such as math, science, geography, technology, music and personal development.
* Organise creative, out‐of‐the‐box activities such as sports, games, and interactive experiences to enhance learning.
* Support the school's mission to improve literacy and life skills among adult women.
