About The Role:
* Performance of specimen reception and accessioning duties within histology/cytology
* Cut-up, embedding and microtomy of tissue specimens
* Routine and special staining of slides including immunochemistry
* Allocation of slides to pathologists
Selection Criteria:
1. A degree in Medical Laboratory Science or an equivalent degree with relevant laboratory experience.
2. A keen eye for detail and exceptional accuracy in data transfer operations
3. Excellent analytical and problem solving skills with an understanding of quality control and quality assurance
4. Previous histopathology experience within a NATA accredited laboratory will be a distinct advantage
5. Abilityto act independently and within established guidelines, demonstrating professionalism, initiative, flexibility and sound judgement
6. Must be able to live and work in Australia permanently at the time of application
