Position Details
Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM) – Launceston General Hospital (LGH), Department of Health, North Region, Launceston.
Classification: Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Award, Registered Nurse, Grade 5.
Employment type: Permanent, part‐time, fully rotational shift worker (up to 64 hours per fortnight).
Start date: 21 June 2026.
Salary: $109,767 to $115,813 per annum pro‐rata, plus 12% superannuation contribution. Post‐graduate allowance up to 10% based on qualification type.
Responsibilities
* Partner with the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) and other senior staff to deliver efficient, effective care based on best‐practice principles within a collaborative, multidisciplinary framework.
* Assist the NUM with planning and management of staff and resources, providing operational leadership through coordination of day‐to‐day patient care activities, including patient flow.
* Coordinate patient‐centred care delivery and flow.
* Maintain effective communication channels with internal and external stakeholders to promote patient/client care delivery.
* Provide a high level of clinical knowledge and skill to ensure clinical standards and policies and procedures promote a patient‐focused model of care according to best‐practice principles.
* Act as a role model and clinical resource person, offering clinical advice, recommendations and effective utilisation of resources.
* Support the NUM in developing and maintaining a strong, collaborative professional team environment that promotes a positive culture and contemporary nursing leadership.
Qualifications
Essential:
* Registered Nurse registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
Desirable:
* Relevant postgraduate qualifications or currently working toward them.
