Strategic Planning Role
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Strategic Planner to join our team. This is a permanent, full-time position working 35 hours a week from Monday to Friday.
The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with the management of proponent-initiated planning proposals in accordance with Council's Guidelines, ensuring effective and efficient execution of these projects, and formulating and preparing strategic planning documents.
* Main Responsibilities:
* Assist with the management of proponent-initiated planning proposals.
* Ensure effective and efficient execution of these projects.
* Formulate and prepare strategic planning documents.
* Liaise with other teams requiring planning advice.
* Review and prepare submissions to government agency initiatives, policies or legislation.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* Completion, or near completion, of recognized tertiary qualifications in urban and regional or town planning (or related tertiary qualifications), providing eligibility for corporate membership of the Planning Institute of Australia.
* Knowledge and understanding of relevant environmental planning legislation and ability to interpret legislation such as the Environmental Planning & Assessment Act 1979.
* Class C Driver's Licence.
* Proof of Australian residency or citizenship.
