About the Role:
We are seeking applicants at either the TGO1 or TGO2 classification level. Applicants are asked to clearly identify which classification(s) they are applying for.
The TGO1 Electronics Technical Officer works under limited supervision, to assist the Water Resource Monitoring Unit (WRMU) in the collection of valid surface water and/or ground water data and entering data into appropriate information databases. The incumbent is responsible for undertaking laboratory work constructing and maintaining basic electronic circuits and configuring electronic instrumentation for edge monitoring platforms. They will also undertake technical duties associated with installing and maintaining monitoring instrumentation, data collection and quality assurance. The incumbent may also be required to lead small projects relating to the work of the unit.
The TGO2 Senior Electronics Technician works, under limited supervision, building and deploying monitoring instrumentation, and field telecommunications for the collection of valid natural water data into DEW's data management systems, assisting the WRMU, DEW and Landscape Boards in the management of natural water resources. The incumbent is responsible for conducting a range of technical duties associated with installing and maintaining technical equipment and undertaking laboratory work such as, constructing and maintaining basic electronic circuits, calibration and configuration of electronic monitoring instruments. The incumbent will be required to lead small projects relating to the work of the unit.
This is a merit pool, and applicants may be contacted over the next 12 months subject to business needs.

Contract:
Contract for 2 years.
Essential Criteria:
For the TGO1
* An appropriate Technical Qualification relevant to the position in Electronics or a related field.
For the TGO2
* A degree or diploma qualification in electronics or equivalent is essential.
Special Conditions:
* May be required to participate in responses to state emergencies or associated duties
* A current class "C" driver's licence and willingness and ability to safely operate a 4wd is essential.
* Inter and intrastate and remote area travel is required, including travel in light aircraft.
* A current First Aid Certificate is essential.
* Must be a competent swimmer.
* Prior to being employed, the successful applicant will be required to obtain a National Police Check.
* You must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or provide evidence that you hold a valid working visa that allows you to work in Australia without restrictions.
Remuneration:
TGO1 $48,788 min - $70,032 max p.a.
TGO2 $75,240 min - $79,880 max p.a.
