Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service is seeking an accomplished professional to take on the pivotal role of Director (Contracts and Commercial Management) within our Finance and Performance Services division. This senior leadership position offers the opportunity to shape the commercial and contractual frameworks that underpin the delivery of high-quality healthcare across Bundaberg, Hervey Bay, and Maryborough Hospitals.
Your Opportunity:
* The Director (Contracts and Commercial Management) is primarily responsible for the planning, design, drafting, negotiation and implementation and administration of agreements with both public and private entities.
* The role will establish and maintain professional working relationships with stakeholders within Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service (WBHHS), other Health Services, the private sector and the Department of Health. It will support the Health Service Chief Executive, Executive and the Board to oversee and lead innovative and strategic commercial negotiations and provide advice to ensure the support of effective and efficient procurement and contract management processes.
* Translate the WBHHS Strategic plan into operational procurement and contract management projects, that support the effective and efficient delivery of the WBHHS' services.

A successful track record engaging at senior levels within a large complex organisation and in leading the design, implementation and evaluation of innovative strategies that improve the contracts and procurement management capability and deliver effective procurement outcomes to support the delivery of health care to the WBHHS community.

Demonstrated ability to establish clear strategic and operational planning frameworks and performance standards to manage service demands and measure performance outcomes that deliver effective procurement outcomes.
* Supports productive working relationships –
Demonstrated success to drive and motivate WBHHS teams to continuously track, monitor and develop own performance, promoting a learning and knowledge-sharing environment. Build networks with groups internally and externally to maintain contemporary knowledge and an up-to-date understanding of management, organisational strategies and legislative and policy compliance.

* Commercial acumen, contract drafting and advisory service experience –
Demonstrated ability to propose and manage commercial proposals with a strong knowledge of best practice commercialisation policy.
* Highly developed and effective written communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills in building networks with groups internally and externally to maintain contemporary knowledge through interpersonal competence, capacity to negotiate, resolve conflict, and positively influence and motivate others.
Preferred Qualifications:
* While not mandatory, a relevant qualification in health services management, business, commerce or law would be well regarded.
* If a degree in law is held, admission or eligibility for immediate admission to practice as a solicitor or barrister in the Supreme Court of Queensland is necessary.
* This position requires the incumbent to work at other facilities within the Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service.

Our offer:
You will receive a competitive remuneration package value up to $214,878 p.a., comprising salary between $174,339 - $188,056 p.a., employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (HSO) (Permanent Full Time, 76 hours p.f.).
