About the Role
The coordinator – Sailing School is responsible for the planning, coordination and delivery of sailing school programs, club racing, regattas and holiday camps.
This role plays a central operational function within the Sailing School, ensuring programs are professionally delivered, well communicated and efficiently administered. The position works closely with instructors, volunteers, members and Australian Sailing to support strong participation outcomes.
This is a hands‐on role suited to someone who enjoys working in a dynamic sporting environment and thrives across both operational and administrative responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
Event & Program Delivery
* Coordinate delivery of sailing school programs, holiday camps and on-water events.
* Support planning and execution of club racing and regattas.
* Prepare and manage event budgets within approved parameters.
* Coordinate casual instructor rostering in collaboration with the Sailing School Manager.
* Ensure all events are delivered safely and in accordance with Club and Australian Sailing standards.
* Lead participant and member communications relating to events and programs.
Administration & Participant Management
* Manage participant enquiries and onboarding processes.
* Oversee registration processes and maintain accurate participant records.
* Maintain and update the Club's CRM and data systems.
* Prepare reporting for Australian Sailing and internal management.
* Ensure compliance documentation and policies remain current and accurate.
* Assist with marketing and social media communications relating to programs and events.
Operational Support & Pathways Development
* Support instructor onboarding and coordination of professional development.
* Identify and implement process improvements to enhance program delivery and operational efficiency.

Skills & Experience
* Minimum three years' experience in event coordination, sport operations or a similar environment.
* Strong organisational and project coordination capability.
* Experience managing multiple projects concurrently.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* High level of digital competency across CRM and software platforms.
* Full working rights in Australia.
* Experience within a member‐based sporting organisation.
* Sailing experience (preferably dinghies/small boats).
* Relevant tertiary qualification in sport management, event management or a related field.
