Lead the Mobile Function — While Still Writing Code
We're partnering with a high-growth Australian SaaS product company with a globally recognised platform used across thousands of large-scale projects internationally.
This is a genuine product company — not agency, not consulting, not corporate IT.
They are seeking a Mobile Engineering Lead who is genuinely technical and hands‐on — someone who leads from the front, contributes to architecture, and still writes high-quality production code.
If you're looking for a purely managerial role, this is not it.

This business operates with product discipline, release governance, and long‐term platform thinking — we need someone who understands that environment.
The Role
Reporting to the Head of Development, you will:
* Lead the end‐to‐end design, development and release of mobile applications
* Remain hands‐on in React Native development (majority of your time will still be technical)
* Design and guide mobile architecture decisions
* Optimise performance, scalability and mobile UX
* Conduct code reviews and enforce engineering standards
* Manage app store release cycles and versioning
* Collaborate closely with Product, Design, API and Web teams
* Mentor and uplift mobile engineers
You will be expected to:
* Write production‐grade code
* Review pull requests
* Influence architecture
* REST API integrations
* Modern cloud‐integrated backend services
* App Store & Google Play release management
This is a technical leadership role — not a step away from coding.
What We're Looking For
* 6+ years in mobile development within SaaS/product environments
* Strong React Native experience in live production environments
* Proven experience leading mobile initiatives technically
* Experience integrating mobile apps with backend services
* Experience managing release governance and app store deployments
* Strong architectural judgment
* Experience mentoring engineers while remaining hands‐on
You should still enjoy solving engineering problems daily — not just running stand‐ups.
