We cover the Diocese of Townsville, which stretches from Halifax in the North, Proserpine in the South, Mount Isa in the West and Palm Island to the East. We have grown to include 5 Early Learning Centres, 9 Kindergartens and 14 Outside School Hours Care Centres.
About the position
We are seeking an organised and proactive HR Administration Officer to join our team on a part-time basis (15 hours per week), with flexibility to work across two or three days. This role will be based at our Townsville office, commencing as soon as practicable.
Reporting to the HR Manager, the HR Administration Officer provides responsive and effective day-to-day administrative support to the HR team. The role supports all stages of the employee lifecycle and contributes to the smooth delivery of HR services across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities Duties include, but are not limited to:
* Supporting recruitment and selection processes, including posting job advertisements and coordinating interviews
* Managing mandatory training and induction processes, including course coordination and follow-up
* Monitoring and responding to enquiries received via the HR inbox, escalating as required
* Maintain and manage manual HR tracking processes, including monitoring probation review timeframes, casual conversion eligibility, payroll checks, and other employee lifecycle milestones
* Maintaining accurate and confidential employee records in compliance with organisational requirements
* Supporting the operations team with short-term unfilled shift management
What you'll need to succeed:
* Minimum Certificate IV Human Resources (preferred)
* Previous experience in a HR administrative position
* Knowledge and understanding of current HR practices and methodologies
* Ability to interpret and apply the provisions of awards, legislation and industrial instruments
* Experienced user in Microsoft Office applications, Google, HR and Payroll systems (particularly Excel and Word)
* Paid Working With Children Check (Blue Card)
* National Criminal History Check
