About the Role
We're looking for a seasoned Head of SEO to step into a leadership position and drive search performance across our client portfolio. This is a hands‑on strategic role, you'll own the SEO function end‑to‑end, balancing big‑picture thinking with day‑to‑day execution.
You’ll scale our search strategy for growth and keep us ahead of the curve as AI reshapes the search landscape.
What You’ll Do
Strategic Leadership
Own and scale SEM and SEO strategy to drive efficient growth and increased market share.
Lead the transition of SEM from agency‑managed to internally operated, ensuring operational excellence across accounts.
Manage and be accountable for SEM budgets, performance outcomes, and overall Google and Bing account health.
Technical & On‑Page Excellence
Lead full technical SEO audits across crawl, indexation, Core Web Vitals, structured data, and site performance.
Own on‑page optimisation, content planning and briefing, and off‑page authority building.
Develop and continuously evolve our search blueprint, including high‑converting landing pages and CRO initiatives.
AI & Emerging Search
Design and execute AEO tactics using the Answer Architecture Blueprint: entity optimisation, fan‑out sub‑query mapping, and content structuring for AI citation.
Monitor and improve client AI Share of Voice across Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and Copilot.
Partner closely with our teams to deliver aligned growth outcomes.
Collaborate with Paid Media, Content, Design, and Backlinks teams to deliver integrated outcomes.
Provide clear ROI reporting and performance insights to senior stakeholders, linking marketing outcomes to commercial impact.
Team Development
Coach and develop a small team of SEO specialists to deliver consistent quality across the portfolio.
Build and embed a structured test‑and‑learn environment that enables rapid experimentation while managing risk.
What We’re Looking For
Deep, current expertise in SEO: you live and breathe search and genuinely enjoy staying on top of algorithm updates, emerging tools, and industry shifts.
Proven ability to deliver measurable results for clients and translate performance into clear, compelling reports.
Strong technical foundation paired with excellent writing skills: you can produce concise, direct content and guide others to do the same.
Experience balancing technical SEO, backlink strategy, and content creation to build the right mix for each client.
A proactive, curious mindset: you spot new challenges early and tackle them head‑on.
