Explosive Materiel Branch (EMB) is seeking skilled mechanics and technicians to maintain guided weapons for the Australian Defence Force. You will perform mechanical and technical work on torpedoes in a meticulously maintained workshop.
You will receive extensive on-the-job training, develop new skills and gain experience in a role that is unique in the mechanical sector.
Once trained, you will work under limited direction on mechanical and technical activities that include:

- Conducting the repair, assembly, calibration, test, inspection, certification, and safety of torpedo maintenance tasks.
- Using technical data and publications to perform technical activities within an explosive ordnance field.

The work you do each day will directly support Defence's commitment to rapidly increasing the maintenance and manufacture of guided weapons in Australia. You will be part of a team that is crucial to delivering the latest guided weapons for the Australian Defence Force (ADF).

**About our Team**
Explosive Materiel Branch (EMB) acquires and sustains a broad range of explosive ordnance capabilities for the Australian Defence Force (ADF). EMB currently manages 38 acquisition projects and sustains over 1000 munition types (including 35 types of complex guided weapons). EMB also manages two explosive ordnance manufacturing facilities.

You will be working in the Torpedo Maintenance team in Maritime Explosive Ordnance Systems Program Office West (MEOSPO-W). The maintenance team plays a significant role in the organisation and is responsible for ongoing intermediate torpedo maintenance in line with detailed regulations.

The right person for this role will have mechanical, trade or technical skills and a strong work ethic. You will be willing to learn new skills in a highly regulated environment maintaining and certifying torpedoes. You will achieve results by managing work projects and performing technical activities to required regulations in a dynamic, busy and exciting work environment.

Support the important work of the maintenance team by building effective relationships, listening to and understanding other team members, collaborating, and participating in group activities.
