WOMEN'S PROGRAM HEAD COACH ROLES OPEN FOR APPLICATION – WAFLW & ROGERS CUP
Peel Thunder Football Club are currently seeking to fill two key leadership positions in our Women's Program for Season 2026 – WAFLW HEAD COACH and ROGERS CUP HEAD COACH.

Both the WAFLW and Rogers Head Coach roles will be open for application at the same time. Applicant can apply for either or both roles if you believe your qualities and interests align to both.
ABOUT PEEL THUNDER
Peel Thunder's purpose is to build a stronger community through football, with our aim to become the premier WAFL Club that inspires individuals to become the best versions of themselves, guided by a commitment to integrity and excellence.
2025 was a season of growth both on and off the field, with the Club heavily motivated to build-on the improvements across the 2025 season and return up the ladder in the WAFLW competition and build an even stronger development program in the Rogers Cup.
In 2026, our aim is to have the strongest development program in the Rogers Cup and most competitive side in the WAFLW, back playing finals and therefore holding sustained success for our entire Women's program.
Since the WAFLW Competition started in 2019, we have won two WAFLW Premierships (2020 and 2021) and have had 15 players drafted since 2016.
WAFLW HEAD COACH ROLE
The Peel Thunder Football Club is looking for a highly motivated and driven individual to lead the coaching and development of our WAFLW team.
The position of Head Coach will be responsible for all facets of coaching, player development, leadership and strategic planning.
The Head Coach will work closely with the WAFLW Co-ordinator in establishing consistent and best practice coaching policies, individual and team development plans in addition to game plans, to give the Club the greatest opportunity for success.
The Head Coach will have outstanding leadership and interpersonal skills, highly developed knowledge and expertise in high performance and proven success in the coaching field. The successful candidate will lead and embed a performance culture across the program.
The position will also have oversight of the Club's Roger's Cup (u/19) program.
Desirable Attributes and Skills for the WAFLW Head Coach
· Development-oriented mindset, emphasising high standards and a professional environment.
· Ability to work alongside the Rogers Head Coach and a team of enthusiastic coaches and support staff.
· Engage with head coaches across club programs to align with key club expectations.
· Desire to coach at a higher level.
· Provide a space for players and staff to express themselves while challenging continuous improvement.
· Clear understanding of game style education, execution, and review.
Role Requirements
· AFL Silver (Level 2) coaching accreditation
· Women's coaching experience, head coach preferable.
· Strong interpersonal and communication abilities
· Experience in the use of HUDL for vision, GPS Data and Champion Data
· Working with Children Check

ROGERS CUP HEAD COACH ROLE
The Peel Thunder Football Club is looking for a motivated and driven individual to lead the coaching and development of our Rogers Cup (under 19) female team.
The position of Rogers Cup Coach will be responsible for all facets of coaching and development of our young up and coming junior players.
The Rogers Cup Coach will work closely with the WAFLW Head Coach and WAFLW Co-ordinator to provide consistent messaging and game plans across our program, to give the Club the greatest opportunity for success.
The Rogers Cup Coach will have excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, highly developed football knowledge and extensive coaching experience.
