Overview
Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Biomaterials in Architecture at QUT (Queensland University of Technology). Hybrid position; join a dynamic interdisciplinary research team contributing to government and industry-funded projects on architectural potentials of local biogenic materials, computational design, robotics and human–computer interaction to enhance sustainability and resilience of buildings and infrastructure.
Responsibilities
Conduct research in biomaterials applied to architecture and related interdisciplinary projects.
Collaborate with PhD candidates, postdoctoral fellows, professors and industry partners; contribute to state-of-the-art facilities and international collaborations.
Engage in activities that support growth and pursuit of a career in academia or industry.
Qualifications
Completion of a doctoral qualification in Architecture, Design, Engineering or Science or closely related field.
Demonstrated experience and expertise in working with biogenic materials.
Proficiency in at least one of the following areas: additive fabrication technology (e.g., 3D printing), computational design and programming, or Life Cycle Assessment (LCA).
A record of publishing research findings in high-impact, peer-reviewed journals.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills demonstrated through collaboration with colleagues, supervisors and external stakeholders.
Ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team.
Desirable/Level A and Level B criteria
Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain an excellent research program that complements existing strengths in the School of Architecture and Built Environment.
Strong track record of publications in high-impact journals.
Location and Terms
Location: Gardens Point
Term: Fixed-term, full-time basis for 2 years
Remuneration: AUD 94,453–128,163 pa (LEVA) or AUD 134,910–160,222 pa (LEVB); includes 17% superannuation and 17.5% recreation leave loading
What You Need To Succeed
Completion of a doctoral qualification in Architecture, Design, Engineering or Science or closely related field.
Demonstrated experience and expertise in working with biogenic materials.
Knowledge/experience in additive fabrication, robotic 3D printing, and related technologies.
History of publishing research in high-impact, peer-reviewed journals.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills with internal and external stakeholders.
