About the role The Senior Guardian is responsible for delivering quality guardianship services to our customers.
This role involves making decisions in line with policy and the Guardianship Act **** (NSW), maintaining accurate customer records, undertaking individual and systemic advocacy to achieve positive outcomes for our customers preparing accurate reports and recommendations to senior officers.
Make decisions in line with policies, within the Senior Guardian delegation level and authority from the Guardianship Division, to best serve the interests of our customers.
Ensure the exchange of information with represented people, family, and key stakeholders is accurate and timely and at all times compliant with relevant legislations.
Required to conduct visits to people represented by the Public Guardian in line with the Guardianship Standards.
As a Senior Guardian you will: Make decisions about where a person lives, the services they receive such as personal care and therapy Consent to medical and dental treatment and health care Prepare guardianship related case reports for the Guardianship Division of the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal Work with key stakeholders such as family members, health professionals and service providers to negotiate appropriate options and positive outcomes for the person.

The ideal applicant will possess the following skills and attributes: Passionate individual who champions the rights of people with disability Committed to providing insightful and timely customer service, often on matters which are complex, sensitive and time critical.
Strong communicator able to work collaboratively with key stakeholders, peers, and customers to ensure optimum outcomes.
Ability to build strong relationships and provide customers with support on making their life decisions.
Have a keen interest in social outcomes, justice and advocating for people, and can demonstrate high levels of empathy and emotional intelligence.
Have a good working understanding of relevant service systems such as the NDIS, aged care and mental health Sound like you?

Key knowledge and experience Knowledge of guardianship practice, advocacy and other services accessed by people with vulnerability.
Essential Requirements Degree and/or equivalent experience in social work, health, behavioural sciences or related discipline.
Available to travel throughout NSW and to undertake after hours work where required.
