Overview 
NVM Services is seeking a full-time Deckhand based in Lakes Entrance, VIC 3909. This is a fishing industry role with flexible hours and a drug- and alcohol-free workplace (random drug and alcohol testing is a condition of employment). 
Location 
Lakes Entrance, VIC 3909 
Position availability 
This company maintains a drug- and alcohol-free workplace and may require work at other locations subject to operational requirements. You will be based in the above region but may be required to work in other locations. 
Responsibilities and expectations 
- Work on deck in heavy seas and sometimes in cramped spaces. 
- Assist in fishing operations as part of a team. 
- Respect safety regulations and comply with workplace safety requirements. 
- Support shipboard operations as directed by the crew and company owners. 
Qualifications and experience 
- Ideally at least 5 years of relevant experience in this industry sector for ranked positions. Seatime of less than 5 years may be considered subject to your experience. When a license or registration is required, you must hold the appropriate tickets or you will not be considered. 
- For Fishing Hands/Deckhands: no less than 1 year of Australian work experience, preferably in catching and handling crab, evidenced by sea-time or logbook. Verifiable letters of reference may also be acceptable. 
- Verifiable references are required for all positions. 
- You must be able to be away from home for several days or occasionally weeks. 
Compensation 
- Remuneration will be negotiated according to qualifications, skills, experience, and performance. 
- Annual salary ranges (for the relevant occupation) include: Ship’s Master $120,000+; Ships Engineer (Fishing) $72,000–$82,000; Master Fisher $75,000–$82,000; Ship’s Officer $72,000–$82,000; Deck and Fishing Hands $68,800–$78,000+; with government-regulated superannuation guarantee. 
Seafood Processors (related role) 
- We are also seeking experienced Seafood Processors for full time and seasonal vacancies. For Seafood Processor positions, a minimum of 2 years’ experience with verifiable references is preferred. Duties may include unloading seafood, handling product, sorting/dressing/filleting, packing, inspecting and sanitizing, and ensuring safety compliance.
