Senior Project Officer
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Officer to join our team. This is a challenging opportunity for a highly skilled individual to undertake key activities in support of the management of risks associated with abandoned mines.
About the Role:
* Develop and implement comprehensive project management plans to ensure effective delivery of projects.
* Prepare technical specifications and procurement documentation to meet project requirements.
* Lead procurement planning and delivery, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
* Engage with stakeholders, including regional staff, contractors, and community representatives, to build strong relationships and facilitate communication.
* Monitor contract performance against key performance indicators (KPIs) and manage contractor delivery to achieve desired outcomes.
* Coordinate technical investigations, field studies, and monitoring activities to inform project planning and risk management.
* Analyse technical reports and data to provide informed decision-making support.
* Prepare briefs, reports, submissions, and ministerial responses to communicate project progress and outcomes.
* Facilitate risk assessment workshops and integrate risk controls into project planning to ensure proactive risk management.
* Conduct site inspections and ensure adherence to workplace health and safety (WHS) and hazardous materials enforcement program (HSEMP) regulations.
About You:
* A degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Geology, or a related field is highly regarded.
* Experience in the mining industry is desirable.
* Project and/or risk management qualifications or experience are highly valued.
* You possess excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills.
* You have strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interpret complex technical reports and data.
* You are physically fit and able to undertake remote fieldwork.
* You hold a current open C class driver licence.
Work Arrangements:
* This is a full-time role, working 36.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
* Regular travel is required, with potential overnight stays.
* You will be part of a collaborative and supportive team of 15.
