Senior Civil Engineer/ Engineering Manager Chris Smith & Associates is a medium-sized consultancy business based in Shepparton, servicing a growing list of clients in regional Victoria and NSW. Our projects include major infrastructure, municipal roads, renewable energy, land development, water industry, and agriculture. We have exciting opportunities for a highly motivated Senior Civil Engineer and/or Engineering Manager to join and lead our team as we continue to grow.
We are seeking a Senior Civil Engineer and/or Engineering Manager with proven industry knowledge and leadership capabilities to join our dynamic team.
Key Responsibilities for both roles: Review and sign off on detailed design documentation, technical reports, specifications, etc. Manage contracts and construction phases to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to a high standard. Establish and manage client and authority relationships. Prepare tender submissions for major projects. Promote our brand and actively seek new opportunities and areas for business growth. Provide guidance and technical support to the engineering team, contributing to staff development and growth. Contribute to the continual improvement of processes and project outcomes within the business. Additional responsibilities for Engineering Manager: Lead the planning, design, and delivery of civil infrastructure projects including roads, drainage, water, sewerage, and utilities infrastructure. Collaborate with company management regarding resources, strategy, and company objectives and targets. Ensure compliance with our company's Integrated Management System, including Quality, Environmental, & OH&S Systems. Skills & Experience Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering in Australia Professional Engineering Registration in Victoria Minimum 15+ years of experience in civil infrastructure industry, including design and contract management Project Management skills Strong communication skills and a commitment to high-quality client service Knowledge of AustRoads and Department of Transport and Planning (DTP) standards Thorough knowledge of local Council Guidelines, including The Infrastructure Design Manual Knowledge of Water Industry Standards Land development experience For the Engineering Manager role: extensive experience in leadership and management of engineering staff Why Join Us Be part of a growing regional firm with long-term career opportunities.
