Position Vacant: Store Manager - Salvation Army Family Store (Atherton)
Location: Atherton, QLD
Employment Type: Part-Time (32.5 hours/week) Monday - Friday 8am - 3pm
Classification: General Retail Award Level 6
The role:
The Salvation Army is seeking an experienced and passionate Store Manager to oversee the daily operations and administrative functions of the Atherton Family Store.
This role offers a unique chance to combine retail expertise with meaningful community impact, supporting the mission of The Salvation Army.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee daily store operations to ensure smooth functioning
* Manage stock flow, donation collection/processing, store presentation, and pricing
* Stock rotation and some heavy lifting of items
* Ability to identify, prioritise, analyse and solve problems
* Deliver high-quality customer service and respond to welfare-related queries
* Implement effective marketing and merchandising strategies
* Achieve and exceed store financial performance targets
* Supervise and mentor staff and volunteers
What We're Looking For:
* A genuine alignment with the mission and values of The Salvation Army
* 2+ years' experience in retail management
* Strong leadership, mentoring, and people management skills
* Proficiency in POS systems and Microsoft Office and cash handling
* Community-oriented with excellent customer service focus
Mandatory Requirements:
* Satisfactory National Police Check
* Current valid Driver's Licence
* Current First Aid Certificate (preferred)
* Physical fitness to meet the demands of the role
