Walcha Council Full-time, Permanent Position Walcha Council is seeking a T eam Leader – Jet Patcher to join our Roads team. About the Role As the Team Leader – Jet Patcher, you’ll be responsible for leading a small crew to carry out vital road repairs and maintenance across the Walcha LGA. This is a hands-on leadership role, where you’ll be operating the jet patcher and managing the daily tasks for your team. Your job will be to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. Key Duties & Responsibilities Carry out efficient and cost-effective operations for maintenance and construction of rural roads and State Highways. Oversee daily tasks and ensure works are completed on time and to specification Ensure safety procedures and traffic control measures are followed Perform regular maintenance checks on equipment Report any issues or defects on site Liaise with other Council teams to ensure smooth coordination of works What You’ll Bring Experience in civil works or road maintenance, with practical experience in operating a jet patcher (or willingness to learn) Current HR driver’s licence Traffic control ticket and White Card (or willingness to obtain) Strong communication skills and the ability to lead a team A focus on safety, quality, and attention to detail Ability to work independently and as part of a team What We Offer This is a Full-Time Permanent position (38 hours per week) starting at $1,349.60 (gross) superannuation per week based on Band 2 Level 2 Grade 4 of the Local Government (State) Award 2023.
